LASIK Surgeon in Rockford, IL . was a member of the Undergraduate Honors Program and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He later graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School. After finishing an internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, Dr. Malik completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Malik is on staff at all hospitals in Rockford, Illinois: St. Anthony Medical Center, Swedish American Hospital and Rockford Memorial Hospital. He is also on staff at Rockford Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Malik is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, University of Illinois School of Medicine at Rockford. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Illinois State Medical Society, Winnebago County Medical Society, and Illinois Association of Ophthalmology. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Malik Eye Institute owes its origins in the practice of Waseem Kamal, M.D. who practiced in Rockford from 1976 to 2004. When Dr. Kamal retired, Dr. Malik took over the care of Dr. Kamal's patients. Between Dr. Kamal and Dr. Malik, the combined practices have taken care of over 36,700 different individuals.
